Recurring Announcements:
1. A reminder....there's a Monday in October that is a student holiday,
teacher meeting. Oct. 9. We will definitely have practice that day. Regular
morning practice
2. If you're interested in a CD of the All-Region
music, bring a MUSIC CD to Mr. Mobley.
3. Wind Ensemble members....Tapes/CDs with
All-Region music are due the following dates:
a. Sept. 23 - 1st third of all selections
b. Oct. 11 - 2nd third of all selections
c. Nov. 8 - 3rd 3rd of all selections
d. Nov. 28 - Complete Exerpts
Current Announcements:
REHEARSALS FOR NEXT WEEK ONLY...MON-FRI....WILL BEGIN AT 6:45 A.M. DUE TO THE
NUMBER OF STUDENTS LEAVING AT 8:00 FOR TUTORIALS. SORRY, BUT GOTTA GET THE WORK
DONE, AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A BAND PRACTICE WITH 40 STUDENTS LEAVING FOR
TUTORIALS.
Friday Logistics:
1. Bus Captains for all traveling events:
a. Get a walkie talkie from Mr. Mobley before leaving.
On his windowsill
b. Call roll when you get on the bus. Have your w/t on when
we're loading/leaving. Turn it off when we are rolling.
c. Turn w/t on when we get to Bastrop. Listen for instructions for unloading
bus and where to go. Turn it off before leaving bus. Leave it on the bus.
d. Turn it on when you get back on the bus after
the game. Call roll. Wait for director to talk to you. Turn it off when we're
rolling.
e. Put w/t on Mr. Mobley's window
f. You need to be the last one off when we get back home.
Make sure you ask students to take everything with them, bus is clean.
g. Bus Captains on guard and percussion buses do not need a
W/T, they go to Mr. Roeder and Michael.
2. Inspection time in respective meeting places is 5:15. Load buses 5:30.
Arrive after game at 11:30. Parents...please park on band practice field.You'll
need your stuff for inspection, instrument in case to take on bus with you
(except sousaphones)
3. Arrival in Bastrop:
a. Loading Crew, percussion, and guard unload.
Guard/percussion stay out of the way until truck is unloaded. Get your stuff.
Get with band.
b. Bus Captains/DM listen to walkie talkie, then tell bus
where to meet directors for warmup/step-through
c. After warm-up, parade block to get in to stands.
d. Kelsey Harper supervises equipment to get to stands/endzone:
Podiums, speakers, tripods, ladders.
4. After game:
a.Load, check roll, leave
b. Percussionists and sousaphones...you're responsible for
getting your own instrument from the truck and putting it away. Take it out of
the case and get it
ready to go for Monday before you
leave.
5. Bus Conduct: (How to represent the RRHS Band)
a. Listen to bus captain quietly while he/she calls roll
b. As with all bus rides, you stay in your seat, sitting,
while bus is in motion.
c. You won't be yelling out the window at any person for
any reason
d. You won't be throwing stuff out the windows or putting
your arms out the windows.
e. You won't be screaming or yelling on the bus
f. What WILL you be doing? Enjoying the evening with
your friends and practicing the maturity thing.
g. Think "personal responsibility" many, many times during
the evening.
