Dragon Band Parents,

Greetings from your Dragon Band Booster Club and welcome to the 2008 - 2009 academic year. 

Congratulations, your student is a member of one of the best organizations on campus, the Round Rock Dragon Band.  The Dragon Band has a long, award-winning history.  We even have second generation Dragons in our midst!   Your student rubs elbows with and is friends with some of the smartest, hardest working students at Round Rock High School.   We are looking forward to another great year.  Here’s how you can help your student make the most of his experience while in the band. 

• Get plugged in!  There are a lot of fun and fascinating parents in the Booster Club that I would like you to meet.  Come to our Booster Club meetings to reacquaint yourself with old friends and make new ones.  The meetings are short and informative.  Your time is precious and we won’t waste it. 

• Compare notes!  It is a little known fact that band parents are among the most well informed academic counselors of their high achieving students.  Band parents are a great resource for which classes to take or avoid, and how to navigate the high school system, especially if you are a freshman parent.  Come get to know other parents, share experiences or let them show you "the ropes". 

• The website is a wonderful tool.  Check the website regularly for do's and don'ts, schedules and photos.  If you haven't already, go to the website as soon as possible and copy all the dates onto your family calendar.

• Volunteer!  We have plenty of opportunities for you to volunteer and it's a great way to get to know other band parents.  We really have fun events for everyone.  If you have never worked concessions or bingo, please sign up.  Believe it or not, it’s alot of fun.  We have alumni parents who, while they were active, made really good friends.  They continue to come help us out at the concession stand.  Come see why! 

• Have fun!  The more involved you are, the more involved and successful your student will be. 

This is your booster club.  Come get involved and make a difference, today, tomorrow and thereafter.
