The summer of 2000 was spent fulfilling a five week study in architecture at the University of Texas at Austin's Summer academy in Architecture, which is in effect the first semester design course accelerated, yet granted not as broad, augmented with faculty lectures.

project I : a bridge

program synopsis: a full-scale structural project to span the 18 foot fountain at Goldsmith Hall with 8 ft cardboard, string and dowels

 

project II : stairway

program synopsis: the design of a stair in a pre-existing space

 

project III : sleep ... ing ... room

program synopsis (part the first): the design of a sleeping surface considering the different sizes, proportions, textures and other distinguishing characteristics

program synopsis (part the second): the consideration of the ritual of sleeping

program synopsis (part the third): an incorporation of the previous two aspects into a room for sleeping

project IV : wall

program synopsis: a proposal to construct a wall on the west mall on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin or along Guadeloupe between 22nd and 24th streets which addresses the concerns of seating and shade while responding to the phenomenon of the chosen site

project V : davison living

program synopsis: the design of a gallery + studio + living space for an artist
