Hello Dragon Band Students, Parents and Families,
What a wonderful Spring Concert we had! Terrific job to all of the students finishing the year strong! AND thank you to everyone who helped out at Everything Day this week, great work making the event go as smoothly as possible!
Congratulations again to all of our seniors - you’re walking across that stage in just a few short days!!
The School Board will be meeting on Tuesday the 19th and on their agenda is the RRHS Concept Plan and Phase 1 approval. The architectural firm will present the concept and outline the elements of Phase 1 which include a new band, choir and orchestra building!

Thursday, May 21st, 7:00pm HEB Center
NEXT YEAR’S Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony perform
3:15pm Report to Band Hall, rehearsal
4:00pm EAT! You provide, then change into concert attire
4:50pm Board buses
5:05pm Depart for HEB Center
5:45pm Arrive, go through security, get set up
6:15pm Restrooms
6:40pm Pre Ceremony Music, trade with choir
7:00pm Pomp and Circumstance
10:00pm (approx.) Graduation ends, clear the area, load buses
10:30pm (approx.) Depart for RRHS
11:15pm (approx.) Arrive, unload
11:20pm (approx.) Change out of concert attire and turn it in, turn in school owned instruments
11:30pm (approx.) Go home!
Attendance
If your student is well enough to attend school, they should be coming to practice and events unless they get sick in the middle of the day and are sent home by the nurse
Look ahead at the rehearsal and event schedule and plan your appointments and tutorial help around it

Attendance at rehearsals and events is mandatory unless otherwise specified
Absences due to sickness are excused with notification from a parent if the student has a fever, is vomiting or cannot otherwise get out of bed
Absences due to prolonged sickness/injury are excused with a doctor's note
Who do I email? Mr. Mobley for Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, Ms. Benford for Symphonic Band, Ms. Bouhadana for Concert Band, Mr. Hammack for all Percussion and Mr. Mendieta for Color Guard
Absences that are not excused-birthdays, completing homework, studying, test preparation, part time job, pop concerts, parties, vacations, weekend getaways
Grades and Eligibility
Students must remain academically eligible to participate in football games and marching contest performances and all TMEA activities
Should a student become ineligible they will still practice with the group during band class and in some cases, outside of the school day
There are two types of official grade reporting - IPR (Interim Progress Report) and Report Card
We are required to go by these official methods to determine eligibility
