Hello Dragon Band Students, Parents and Families,
You may have heard that Mrs. Stone, our color guard director, is departing. We wish her well in the future! We are now in the process of searching for candidates for the position. It will be some time before we have things finalized as applications with the district and formal interviews must be completed. It is my hope to be able to have candidates work with the color guard as part of the interview. Sometimes we are able to work that out for band director interviews as it’s obviously very helpful but being able to do so comes down to timing of when interviews can be held. For now, we will move forward with auditions next week and students will work in class to prepare for solos and small ensemble performances both for TCGC and for one another.
Four of our five bands have gone to UIL with terrific results! Now our Wind Ensemble needs to get it done today!
There are 3 judges for the concert performance (stage) and 3 judges for sight reading:
Concert Band 2 earned a 1,2,2 on stage and a 2,2,2 in sight reading
Concert Band 1 earned a 1,1,1 on stage and a 1,1,2 in sight reading (not sure what that one judge was thinking!)
Symphonic Band earned a 1,1,1 on stage and a 1,1,1 in sight reading
Wind Symphony earned a 1,1,1 on stage and a 1,1,1 in sight reading
Here are recordings from our UIL stage performances! I believe permission are set up to allow anyone to listen to these files!

Advocate for Fine Arts Education Today!
Fine arts education is essential to a well-rounded education, yet Texas schools receive no dedicated funding for these required programs. With the 89th Texas Legislature now in session, we have a critical opportunity to change that—but we need your help!
At Parents for Arts Education, we are working to secure a dedicated fine arts allotment to ensure students have access to the instruments, costumes, supplies, and specialized instruction they need.
