    Chaitanya Dandekar

    STUDENT CONDUCTOR, DRUM MAJOR
    Senior
    Bass Clarinet
    *TMEA All State Bass Clarinetist - 2022, 2023

    Chaitanya Dandekar is a senior at Round Rock High School. In the Round Rock Band program he is the principal bass clarinetist, and a senior drum major. He is a two-time TMEA All State Musician, and has qualified for the TMEA Area auditions in January, 2024. He is a member of both HOSA and DECA at Round Rock High School, and he has qualified to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference. After high school, Chaitanya aspires to study neuroscience and biochemistry and eventually become a surgeon or radiologist. Chaitanya wanted to thank his parents, his lesson teacher, Ms. Carney, his band directors, Mr. Mobley, Mr. Roeder, Ms. Benford, and Ms. Bouhadana and his middle school director, Mrs. Bergeron for all their guidance and continued support throughout his band experience.

    Maanasa Mahesh

    STUDENT CONDUCTOR, CLARINET SQUAD LEADER

    Maanasa Mahesh is an accomplished high school musician. She is the co-director of the Round Rock High School Clarinet Choir and is a clarinet squad leader in the RRHS Varsity Dragon Band. Maanasa is a Classical Carnatic vocalist of 12 years and a mandolin player of 6 years. She has given numerous vocal solo recitals and completed her vocal arangetram (4-hour solo vocal performance) in July, 2022. She has been a part of the Wind Ensemble for the past 3 years and qualified for the TMEA Area audition this year. She would like to thank the band directors, her vocal instructors, her clarinet private lesson teacher, and her family for their support and wishes her sister Mahathi, who is in the Saxophone Choir, good luck on her Midwest performance!

    David Mobley

    HEAD BAND DIRECTOR
    Guest Conductor

    An Austin native, David Mobley is a graduate of Leander High School where he was a student of Dennis Hopkins and studied trombone with Russell Brown. While attending the University of Texas, he was a member of the Longhorn Band, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and the Trombone Choir and was a student of Donald Knaub. While in college Mr. Mobley was a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois and was also later a staff member of the same corps. After graduating from UT he taught in Houston, Texas and Indianapolis, Indiana. This is his 18th year on staff at Round Rock High School.

    Anna Lemons

    CLARINET SECTION LEADER

    Anna Lemons is a senior clarinet section leader and three-year member of the Dragon Band Leadership Team. She has been principal clarinetist of the RRHS Symphony Orchestra and member of the Wind Ensemble since sophomore year. Anna also enjoys performing in many other ensembles in the Central Texas area.

    Bowen Liu

    Senior
    Bb Clarinet

    Bowen Liu is a senior and is a member of the Round Rock High School Wind Ensemble and Varsity Marching Band. Bown has earned membership in the TMEA Region 26 and Area D Bands. In addition to clarinet, he has been studying classical piano for twelve years winning various awards in regional contests and playing in the Round Rock Jazz Program. Outside of band, Bowen is vice president of the robotics club, where he created the club’s prominent brand.

    Chloe Szostek

    Chloe Szostek is a senior and a Squad Leader for the clarinet section. She is Vice President of Jesus Loves You Club, and a member of Dragon Band Uniform Crew. She is active in serving her church as a member of the Worship Team and Video Production.

    Vic Ducea

    CLARINET SQUAD LEADER

    Vic Ducea is a junior and a squad leader for the clarinet section. They made TMEA Region 26 Ensembles three times and placed 15th in the Texas All-State Clarinet Section. As well as playing soprano clarinet, Vic also plays bass clarinet and alto saxophone. Outside of band, Vic is pursuing computer science, and plans to major in both music and computer science in college.

    Jishnu Saani

    Senior
    Bass Clarinet

    Jishnu Saani plays bass clarinet and is a member of the Round Rock Wind Ensemble and Varsity Marching Band. Jishnu is the Founder and President of his school’s Robotics Club and President of his school’s DECA Club. He is also a co-founder of the nonprofit-organization, The Project Red, which helps provide aid to communities in need.

    Seungwan Son

    Seungwan Son is a clarinetist and a member of the Round Rock High School Wind Ensemble and Varsity Marching Band. Outside of band, Seungwan dedicated over 300 hours of volunteering for his community and reached the top 3% of his class.

    Keely Martinez

    Keely Martinez is a junior and a Section Leader of the clarinet section. She has been playing the clarinet for 6 years. She is successful academically and is an AP student. After high school, she plans on pursuing a degree in political science.

    Sarah Chang

    Sophomore
    Bb Clarinet

    Sarah Chang is a sophomore in the RRHS Wind Ensemble. She was the clarinet Section Leader in the Walsh Middle School Honor Band who performed at the 75th Annual Midwest Clinic in 2021. She earned a spot in the TMEA Region 26 6A Bands in 2022 and placed first chair in the TMEA Region 26 Middle School Orchestra and Band.

    Abigail Schade

    Abigail Schade is a senior and squad leader for the clarinet section. She is a member of the wind ensemble and has been in the varsity marching band for three years. She has continually made the TMEA Region 26 Bands since freshman year. Outside of band, Abigail is a member of the American Sign Language club and volunteers with the National Charity League.

    Maddie Morrison

    Maddie Morrison is a member of the Round Rock High School Wind Ensemble and she has been a member of the the Varsity Marching Band for 2 years. This will be her second time performing at the Midwest Clinic. Outside of band, Maddie is on the dance team at Round Rock High School and is involved at her church where she actively serves as a volunteer in the Kids Ministry.

    Sydney Chan

    Sydney Chan is a junior and a member of the Round Rock High School Varsity Marching Band and Wind Symphony. Sydney has earned membership in the TMEA Region Bands for three years. Outside of band, Sydney is a part of Mu Alpha Theta, Girls Who Code, and has a leadership role in the first GIDAS Chapter in Texas.

    Andrew Chang

    PERCUSSION SECTION LEADER

    Andrew Chang is a senior and the principal percussionist of the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and is the Drumline Captain of the Varsity Marching Band. He consistently makes the TMEA Region 26 bands and has performed at the 2018 PASIC Convention.
