Hello Dragon Band Students, Parents and Families,Here we are near the end of June! Everyone should be taking some time off, (but not too much😜!) getting outside to acclimate to the heat and of course...practicing!
What to Practice 🎵
•Percussion and Color Guard students have information from Mr. Hammack and Mr. Mendieta about what to practice
•Wind players should use our google folder and part assignment list
○Start with show music
○Work towards stand music

Disney Trip! ✈️
•We have 134 students signed up already and I would love to see 100+ more! The more the merrier!
•Presentation Slides and Full Trip Info!
•Dates: Thursday, March 11th-Sunday, March 14th
•Flights: Allegiant Air charter and a commercial flight (likely Southwest or American)
•Hotel: Disney's Pop Century Resort
•Travel package price includes: Transport to and from airports, flights, hotel, all meals, transportation while at Disney and all park tickets
Steps to Sign Up
•Start by going to www.musictravel.com
•Click on "TRIP LOGIN" in the UPPER RIGHT
•Click on "Register as a New User"
•[or use existing account for previous travelers]
•Fill in all information and click "Create Account"
•Enter your email address and password
•Go to "Register A Traveler" and fill in the requested information
•Your trip number: 2703-3-56
•Select "Make a Payment" to make payment
Please Note: Deposit must be paid to secure spot, registration is on a space-availability basis and once the trip reaches capacity, you will be added to the waitlist

UIL Physical RequirementAll band and color guard students must have a yearly physical to participate
▪Please arrange to have your physical completed and form signed by a physician by Friday, July 18TH

▪This form MUST be turned in before summer band or you will not be allowed to participate

What to bring and wear to Summer Band
▪Returning members bring Dragon Band water jug
▪New members will get a Dragon Band water jug (filled) on the first day of summer band
▪Lunch
▪Instrument, music and a pencil
▪Comfortable clothing in which you can easily move and stay cool
▪Athletic shorts and shirts, breathable materials
▪No Jeans
▪Hat-advisable to avoid sunburn
▪SUNSCREEN
▪Sunglasses
▪Good athletic shoes-VERY IMPORTANT to avoid injury from long term stress-No sandals, flip flops, vans, boat shoes, no shoes with poor support
